About ShedAtlas: how the directory is built

Who runs it

ShedAtlas is operated by the owner of North Texas Shed & Steel, a shed dealer in Texas. That dealership is listed like every other entity, is ordered by the same alphabetical and distance rules, and can never buy or be given a different position. There is no paid placement, paid verification or paid inclusion anywhere on this site.

Where the listings come from

Every listing is a record collected from a manufacturer's own public dealer locator. Today that is 9 manufacturers, 3,406 source listings, 48 states, collected 2026-09-11 to 2026-09-14. Manufacturers currently represented: Cook Portable Warehouses, Derksen Portable Buildings, Graceland Portable Buildings, Leland's Barns & Sheds, Old Hickory Buildings, Premier Portable Buildings, Stor-Mor Portable Buildings, Tuff Shed, Ulrich Lifestyle Structures.

Coverage is unknown: every source carries the coverage class UNKNOWN_COVERAGE, which means no completeness claim is made for it. A manufacturer's locator lists the dealers that manufacturer chooses to publish, and ShedAtlas has not reconciled any list against an independent count. Two listings with the same name in the same town are kept as two records until evidence shows they are one business.

What the dates mean

"Record collected" is the day ShedAtlas retrieved the listing from the manufacturer, not the day the manufacturer last changed it. Address, phone and hours carry their own collection dates because they came from different pages. A relative age such as "3 days ago" is arithmetic on that date and nothing more.

What a listing does and does not say

A listing says a manufacturer published this dealer at this address on the collection date. It does not say the address is a shed display lot, that the business is open today, that inventory is on hand, or that prices or hours are current. Absence from a locator never means a dealer has closed. ShedAtlas does not publish reviews, ratings, rankings or inventory.

How corrections work

Every location page has a "Report a correction" link addressed to contact@northtexassheds.com. A report is recorded as a report and checked against the manufacturer source. It never edits the record directly. Takedown requests or complaints go to abuse@northtexassheds.com and stop collection from the affected source while they are reviewed.

How collection behaves

ShedAtlas requests public, logged-out pages only, identifies itself in every request with a contact address (crawl@northtexassheds.com), keeps to one request at a time with several seconds between requests, and stops on any request to stop. Only factual fields are kept: names, addresses, map points, public phone numbers, hours, manufacturer relationship and source identifiers. No photos, marketing copy, reviews or inventory are collected.

Cloudflare Web Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run on this site to understand how visitors use the directory. Typed searches are visible on the page and in the address bar by design; nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
